The Brazilian Industry System (SISTEMA INDUSTRIA) inspires Dr Richard Maponya Institute

Dr Richard Maponya was inspired by the Brazilian Industry System (SISTEMA INDUSTRIA) to establish the Dr Richard Maponya Institute for Skills and Entrepreneurship Development. This was during his visit to Brazil as a member of the South African Presidential Business Delegation with President Jacob Zuma in 2010. Specifically, he was touched by the work of the Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI).

The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), www.cni.org.br , is the official and highest-level organization representing Brazilian industry. Since its founding in 1938, CNI has defended domestic business and manufacturing interests, acting as the main interlocutor with the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, as well as with various organizations and entities in Brazil and around the world. It is comprised of 26 federations of industry in the states and federal districts.

It directly administers the following organizations:

IEL is directly linked to CNI’s Board of Education and Technology and offers services in the fields of education, technology and innovation. With 101 units located across the country, IEL implements innovative solutions that are customized to the needs of each company.

Since its founding, CNI has played a leading role in Brazilian society, promoting debate and seeking consensus around key national issues, especially those that impact the performance of the Brazilian industry and economy.

A key voice in the national stage, CNI, discusses and puts forth suggestions to develop and improve public policies and laws that strengthen the productive sector and modernize the country. Furthermore, it supports initiatives that seek to improve the standing, social status, and training of workers around the country.
