Dr Richard Maponya was inspired by the Brazilian Industry System (SISTEMA INDUSTRIA) to establish the Dr Richard Maponya Institute for Skills and Entrepreneurship Development. This was during his visit to Brazil as a member of the South African Presidential Business Delegation with President Jacob Zuma in 2010. Specifically, he was touched by the work of the Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI). The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), www.cni.org.br , is the official and highest-level organization representing Brazilian industry. Since its founding in 1938, CNI has defended domestic business and manufacturing interests, acting as the main interlocutor with the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, as well as with various organizations and entities in Brazil and around the world. It is comprised of 26 federations of industry in the states and federal districts. It directly administers the following organizations:

It has always been a great pleasure to work with Mr Louis Tshakoane, the former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kaizer Chiefs FC, in the then NSL. He was famously known as “Sprinter” or “King Louis”. We were in opposite camps then. I was the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Wits University FC. This was in 1994 NSL season. My relationship with Louis remained solid, until today. Those were great years of PROs in football in South Africa. I have observed Louis progressed from being a PRO to becoming one of the great football administrators in South Africa. We are blessed as a country to have people like Louis, who have stayed in football for such a long time. He is, today, the President of Ekurhuleni Football Association (SAFA).  It is my pleasure that my relationship with Louis resulted in him joining me at COMETSA as our Group Ambassador (President & Chairman’s office), since 2013. Our organization, COMETSA, has achieved amazing results, especially the career growth of our member players of our development initiatives since our founding date, the 1 st August 1997. We have now transferred those development programmes and initiatives to our non-profit development agency, COMETSA Sports Development Agency – NPO (Registration No. 2001/005048/08). We do however recognise the fact that football as sport belongs to the official associations governed by the global laws of the game, under FIFA.
